Yeşilırmak Basin Development Project (YBDP) has been prepared in accordance with national level decisions and ınternational accepted practice. The Project aıms to assüre establishment of links between plans to be prepared at sub-scale level in accordance with plannıng hierarchy. YBDP has been prepared for Nomençlature of Territorial Ünits for Statistics (NUTS) 2 Level, referred to as TR83, covering the provinces of Amasya, Çorum, Samsun, and Tokat. TR83 is one of 26 NUTS 2 regions in Turkey. Work done under that framework is aimed at “land use plannıng without disturbing ecological balance, sustainable resource management, reduction of socio-economic development disparities between TR83 and other regions, improvement of productivity for increasing welfare level in the region and the region’s contribution to national economy”.
